The Vision: Breathe New Life Into a Dated Home

Our client had a clear goal: retain the soul of the home while upgrading every inch to meet today’s standards. The original layout was choppy, with low ceilings, outdated finishes, and minimal storage. What they wanted was a more open, livable design — something clean, cohesive, and built to last.

Demolition & Framing: Laying a New Foundation for Flow

We began by gutting the interior, stripping the space down to its bones. Walls were removed to open up the main living area, allowing for a smooth transition between the kitchen, dining, and lounge spaces. We reinforced the framing to support the new layout and added structural beams to maintain integrity while creating a clean, open look.

A Kitchen Reimagined

Rather than simply update the kitchen, we rebuilt it from the ground up. We reconfigured the footprint, added a large central island, and framed a custom pantry wall. Electrical and plumbing lines were rerouted to match the new layout, and additional recessed lighting was installed to brighten the entire zone. The result? A kitchen that became the true center of the home — inviting, functional, and built for modern living.

Bathrooms with Form and Function

We fully remodeled two bathrooms, beginning with complete demo and new framing to accommodate larger vanities and walk-in showers. Subflooring was leveled and prepped for long-lasting tile installation. Behind the walls, we upgraded the plumbing and added proper waterproofing — because at FDC, quality starts where you can’t see.
